Absorbable thread treatment has recently joined the range of aesthetic treatments.
It is an innovative treatment for rejuvenating the skin of the face and neck and improving its appearance.
The absorbable threads in the skin stimulate the production of new collagen and create a high-quality supporting network for the skin.
The treatment also helps slow the skin aging process, and is therefore well suited as maintenance treatment at a relatively young age, from the age of 40 onwards.
Before inserting the threads, the area is numbed with a local anesthetic (lidocaine).
During the treatment, the physician inserts an absorbable medical thread made of polydioxanone (PDO) into the skin using a very fine needle.
The needle is easily withdrawn and the thread remains in the skin, where it biodegrades over 3–8 months without leaving marks or scars on the skin surface.
Thread treatment is suitable for lax skin lacking vitality, wrinkles and fine lines, sagging cheeks and chin area, thinning neck tissue, and lifting the brow line and temples.
Thread treatment is not suitable in cases of active skin disease, pregnancy, chronic bleeding disorders, or inflammatory acne of the face or neck.
